Taunton: According to all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, Pakistan team have no need to fear Australia team with whom Pakistan’s 4th World Cup fixture is scheduled on 12th of June.
The Professor has urged his side to take the confidence from their win over tournament favorites England into the match against Australia scheduled on June 12.
The 38-year-old was the anchor with the bat against England, guiding his side to a massive total of 348 from 50 overs. He was also brilliant with the ball as Pakistan win that match by 14 runs.
Taking to AFP on Sunday Hafeez said, “I think all the teams are beatable.” ” If you look at the England side no one could believe we could beat them, still we did.”
He added. “But all teams are beatable … if you talk of our next opponent (Australia) they are also playing very good cricket but they too can be defeated.”
Pakistan, who face the defending champions at Taunton on Wednesday, have a poor recent record against Australia – they’ve won just one of the last 14 one-day internationals between the teams dating back to October 2014.
Australia – who have won four of the last five World Cups – completed a 5-0 whitewash of Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates in March.
