Sana Mir’s Last-over Heroics Seal Victory For Pakistan Women Over South Africa Women

Sana Mir’s Last-over heroics seal victory for Pakistan Women over South Africa Women in the third T-20 international in Pietermaritzburg.

Chasing139, Pakistan Women had a shocking start to their innings, losing three wickets in quick time. On getting rid of the Pakistan Women backbone, the hosts were looking to go through the whole line-up quickly, but that didn’t happen.

Rescuing partnership of 77-run for the fourth wicket partnership between Nida Dar (32 off 28) and Irum Javed (55 off 45) brought the visitors back in the game. After Dar withdrew, Aliya Riaz contributed with a 24-ball 32.

However, Javed’s departure on the 1st ball of last over put Pakistan Women on backfoot.

Then came the experienced Sana Mir in the middle. The veteran all-rounder took the crease when the team needed six runs off four deliveries. Mir hit a four and took a double on third and the fourth ball to seal the victory for Pakistan with 2 balls to spare.

With that victory, Pakistan Women took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
