Former Indian teammates Yuvraj Singh and Manpreet Gony helped Toronto Nationals to register their second win in Global T20 Canada 2019 against Edmonton Royals on Saturday in Ontario.
Toronto Nationals were worried about Yuvraj Singh,s form and back issue as he managed to score only 14 runs from 27 balls in a bizarre fashion against Vancouver Knights.
But, against Edmonton Royals on Saturday in Ontario, the former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh came with much-improved form. He smashed 3 sixes and as many boundaries in his 21-ball 35 that helped Nationals successfully complete a 192 run chase with 7 balls to spare.
But, the best moment of the match came when Shadb Khan who removed Yuvraj Singh LBW in Champions Trophy 2017 was hit for a glorious flat six over -mid-wicket to leave the Pakistani bowler stunned.
Afterward, Yuvi’s dismissal set left the side of the track as Nationals lost four more wickets in a space of only 24 balls. It was Manpreet Gony’s late barrage that got the Nationals’ over the line with two wickets in hand. Gony struck 33 runs in only 12 balls with three sixes and three fours at a strike rate of 275 as the Nationals got over the line with seven balls to spare.
