In spite of the stunning opening weekend haul of Avengers Endgame, it seemed that the movie may not be able to break the box office record of Avatar to become the highet-grossing movie of all time.
But, all the possibilities have been left aside, and finally, Avengers Endgame has crossed the Avatar in box office collection, becomes the highest-grossing movie of all time.
Kevin Feige, the Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed the news as he took the stage at SDCC for Marvel’s panel, albeit without revealing actual numbers. Projections place Endgame ahead of Avatar in box office rankings, with a lead of about $2 million when he was speaking. That’s $2.790 billion for Avengers 4 compared to $2.788 billion for Avatar.
“Thanks to you, Avengers: Endgame is the biggest film of all-time,” Feige told.
Russo brothers: The directers of Endgame took Twitter and confirmed the news.
“A huge congratulations to the Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios teams, and thank you to the fans around the world who lifted Avengers: Endgame to these historic heights,” Disney Studios co-chairman and chief creative officer Alan Horn said in a statement, while still praising Avatar.
