Taunton: Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq while talking to some media said that the Australian pacer Mitchell Starc is no threat for me. Instead, Imam-ul-Haq said he is ready and excited to face the Micthell Starc’s challenge on 12th of June.
The 23-year-old Pakistan opener said facing the likes of Jofra Archer and Mark Wood against England has boosted his confidence and will help him to face the Australian quicks.
Imam-ul-Haq scored 44 runs in a 82 run opening stand that helped Pakistan to set a total of 348 runs for 8 against England in a match they won by 14 runs.
“I have faced the likes of Rabada, Dale Steyn in more difficult conditions of South Africa recently,” said Imam.
Imam scored 271 runs in a five match ODI series against South Africa including a century while facing the likes Rabada and Dale Steyn.
“I focus more on my strengths and prepare accordingly. I do not prepare according to the bowler’s strengths.” Imam added.
