Asif Ali To Join World Cup Squad Despite Daughter’s Death

Power hitter Asif Ali intends join World Cup Squad despite his daughter’s death.

Asif Ali intends to retain his place in Pakistan’s squad for the World Cup regardless of the death of his 2-year-old daughter.

The batsman and the left-arm pace bowlers Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz were excluded from the first squad announced a month ago however the trio have been named in the final 15 member squad announced on 20 May.

The trio have replaced Faheem Ashraf, Junaid Khan and Abid Ali.

Asif flew to join the funeral of his daughter who died of cancer in US hospital. The 2-year-old girl was suffering from Stage-IV cancer and lost the battle for life at a hospital in the US. According to the reports Asif plans to join the world cup squad despite this incident.

The Pakistan PM, Imran Khan, was among those to offer his sympathies to Asif. The previous all-rounder composed on Twitter:

“My condolences and prayers go to Asif Ali & his family on the passing of his daughter from cancer. May Allah give them the strength to bear such a precious loss.”

Asif contributed two half-hundreds in a recently concluded series against England. The 27-year-old seems to be a perfect fit for Pakistan in the middle overs.
